About Barky Bay
Barky Bay started because I went looking for shirts that actually matched how dog moms talk about their dogs — the way you'd hear it in real conversation, not the way it gets packaged for retail.
What I found instead was: cute paw-print stuff that missed the joke. Expensive boutique pieces that took themselves too seriously. And a lot of generic "dog mom" tees that felt like they were designed by someone who'd never met a dog mom in real life.
I've grown up around dogs, and I'm still around them all the time — sister's dog, friend's dog, the dog who lives next door and has decided I'm his second human. What I noticed is that the women in my life who love their dogs really love them, and they talk about them in a way that's funny and specific and a little bit self-aware. Their dog tilts his head when they talk. Their dog listens better than their husband. Their dog has a strong opinion about the mail carrier.
That's the voice Barky Bay is trying to put on a shirt.
Every design starts with a real moment — something a dog mom would actually say. Some are jokes. Some are quiet truths. All of them are made to be worn by someone who's stopped apologizing for being more excited to see her dog than most people.
The shirts are Comfort Colors heavyweight cotton — garment-dyed, runs true to size, printed and shipped from the USA. I switched to Comfort Colors because the original blanks felt like a compromise, and shirts you buy because you love what they say should feel like favorites the day they arrive, not after a year of breaking in.
This is a one-person operation. If something's wrong, weird, late, or you just want to say hi, email me at info@barkybay.co. I read every message and answer them myself — usually within a day, sometimes faster.
